ACTION Registry®–GWTG™ is an outcomes-based quality improvement program that helps participating facilities measure and improve care for high-risk myocardial infarction (MI) patients with STEMI or NSTEMI. Created by the merger of the NCDR® ACTION Registry® and the American Heart Association (AHA) Get With The GuidelinesSM-CAD program, ACTION Registry–GWTG combines the best of both programs into a single, unified national registry.

By uniting the robust data collection and quality reporting features of the ACTION Registry with the collaborative models, unique tools, and quality improvement techniques of the GWTG-CAD program, ACTION Registry–GWTG collects a comprehensive set of data elements that provide health care professionals and their facilities with the information they need to monitor and improve adherence to the most current, science-based ACC/AHA treatment guidelines. Participation greatly facilitates quality improvement efforts, optimizes clinical care, and improves clinical outcomes for your MI patients

    Participation in ACTION Registry–GWTG provides:

    • Weekly key measures reports and risk-adjusted quarterly benchmark reports that compare your institution’s performance with that of volume-based peer groups and the national experience

    • Complimentary access to Cardiosource®, the most authoritative and comprehensive online resource in cardiovascular medicine

    • Plus, ABIM Diplomates can meet MOC recertification requirements by using ACTION Registry–GWTG data to earn up to 80 points toward evaluation of practice performance through the self-directed PIM*

*Physicians certified by medical specialty boards other than ABIM, such as emergency medicine physicians who have their patient records submitted to ACTION Registry–GWTG, should consult their individual boards to see how their facility’s ACTION Registry–GWTG data can be used to meet MOC Part IV requirements.
