 Data Entry Software
  • CathPCI Registry™ participants are required to enter data into certified NCDR™ software. This software is purchased by participating hospital. This costs for this software vary between venders, and may require significant time to install and training. Additional resources will be required if computer interfaces.
  • Our certified software vendors offer a wide spectrum of functionality and features. We encourage you to talk with these vendors to determine which software best meets your facilities needs. Click here for a current list of certified vendors.

 Staff resources

  • Staff resource will be required to collect, enter and submit the data to the ACC CathPCI Registry™. Hospitals have approached this in a variety of ways, but in general a data manager is identified to facilitate the collection and submission. Often Information Technology (computer) as well as a clinical expertise is desired skills for a data coordinator.
  • Currently the NCDR™ offers online data collection tools and data collection resources to participants for the ICD Registry™ and the CARE Registry™. The tool includes all of the data elements required to submit to the NCDR™. Plans are in place to release software specifications to software vendors later this year.

 Training and education opportunities

  • Training for the Data Manager is available from a variety of resources on the ACC NCDR® CathPCI WebPages. In addition, a national meeting is held at least once a year in conjunction with the ACC Annual Scientific Session. Regional meeting may facilitate accurate, reliable data collection.
  • The ACC CathKit® is available to assist quality improvement efforts. CathKit can maximize the use of the CathPCI Outcome Reports to improve the quality of care provided. More information can be found at ACCCathKIT®
