NCDR Research Provides Answers that Advance Cardiovascular Care
National in scope, the National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR) represents a substantial and growing patient population and millions of records that give it the deep resources needed to support credible insights. As a result, government agencies, educational institutions and corporations frequently call upon NCDR data to answer specific clinical questions or to address needs in areas such as the effective diffusion of emerging technologies, evidence-based reimbursement issues, performance measure and guidelines development and validation, and other quality-of-care concerns. The results of this research culminates in peer-reviewed articles, oral presentations or posters for major scientific and cardiology conferences, and other original contributions that can lead to improvements in the quality of patient care.

The NCDR Research Network™ provides two distinct opportunities for engagement:
Requesting NCDR Data Analysis to Conduct Research

As part of its mission, the NCDR encourages applications from individual researchers and organizations interested in querying registry data to answer healthcare delivery and clinical questions that can potentially improve cardiovascular patient care.

For more information about current and past research proposals and the process through which individual researchers and organizations can access registry data to help answer clinical questions, click here.

Participating in NCDR Research Projects

The NCDR is engaging in various government and privately funded research projects. Currently, these projects include outcomes research, comparative effectiveness research and longitudinal studies. These opportunities allow hospitals, practices and cardiac care facilities to become involved in innovative research projects that often integrate existing data collection methods with electronic data capture systems developed for research.

Current NCDR research grants and projects include:

The ASCERT Study

National Cardiovascular Research Infrastructure (NCRI)

TRANSLATE-ACS Study
